Adam G. Landis concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate bankruptcy and restructuring. Adam's diverse practice includes first-chair and co-counsel representation of debtors, official and unofficial committees, secured lenders and other secured creditors, indenture trustees and bondholders, unsecured creditors, asset purchasers, officers and directors, and liquidating trusts in a variety of national bankruptcy cases, mostly in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Recognized as a leader in Delaware bankruptcy/restructuring practice by Chambers USA in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and honored as a Delaware Super Lawyer in 2007, Adam lectures and writes frequently on chapter 11 bankruptcy topics.
Admitted to practice in Delaware, New York and Massachusetts, Adam is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Delaware State Bar Association. He is a 1991 graduate of Northeastern University School of Law and a 1985 graduate, with honors, of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. After graduating from law school, Adam practiced in New York as an associate with the law firm of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP. He was a partner in the Delaware office of Duane Morris & Heckscher LLP (now Duane Morris LLP) before joining Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling PC (now Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC) as a shareholder in March 2000. Adam left Klett Rooney in July 2003 to found Landis Rath & Cobb LLP with Dan Rath and Rick Cobb.
Mr. Landis has been recognized as a leader in Bankruptcy/Restructuring by Chambers USA in 2005, 2006 and 2007. In its 2008 Client's Guide, Chambers USA touted Landis Rath & Cobb LLP as "an outstanding firm with outstanding people ... ideal for conflicts and local counsel work ... now handling a growing amount of sole counsel work as well ..." Clients and peers described Mr. Landis as "[w]ell liked and highly respected ... top of the list for referrals" and someone who "goes beyond the typical role of local counsel and shares an almost equal voice with lead counsel on all legal issues and strategy ... a bright, articulate and reasonable attorney who is good at helping people to achieve a resolution — a 'cards on the table' kind of guy."
